Anita's Stitching

I have begun stitching in 1978. For the last 10 years, my stitching has been with "smalls". I love to use beads and ribbons and always looking for new ways for finishing. My email addresses is anita@anitalittlestitches.com.

2007 Stitching Plans

I try to set up some guidelines every year to help me focus on my stitching.

Monthly stitching

- perwinkle promise kits
- freebie
-ornament
-biscornu stitched and finished

My son is almost 4 years old by May of 2007 and I need to finish all his stitching as far as the christmas quilt, birth sampler and his christmas stocking. I have accumulated a lot of kits over the years like Victoria Sampler learning series, perwinkle promise kits, mill hill kits and so on; I would like to work on them this year. I want to relearn the hardanger techniques and learn some new finishing techniques.

Thank you so much for being part of my blog by visiting it regularly and showing your supports. Have a happy new year.

I have been stitching

I have a few more pieces to share before this year is over. Can you tell I am trying to beat the clock? I hope everyone had a great Christmas. Our neighbor invited us to join their family and my 3 years old had a great time playing with other kids and of course, he enjoyed all his christmas gifts. At the end of the Christmas day, he told me I am going to sleep now and please let Santa knows I want 3 more presents.

I have started this 2005 Told in the Garden Angel since November and finally I finished stitching it. The various shades of green definitely were driving me crazy. I did not like the beaded work I did in the middle the first time so I spent hours ripping the beads out and did my own version. I ended up using two different sizes of metallic gold beads. I am very happy with the result. I always use "thread heaven" for all my metallic filaments stitching. It is such a blessing. I have stitched the 1997 Told in the Garden Angel years ago and I am also attaching a picture of that piece as well. Can you tell the similarities between the two?

I also managed to stitch a Shepherd's Bush design "Christmas Joy" and I have made some changes to the original pattern and will eventually make it into a mini needleroll.

The last finish is Just Nan "Angel Melody" . It is a perfect design for a scissor fob. There are red and gold beads around the wreath. Scanner just does not do a good job when it comes to white, off white or beige fabric.

Christmas gifts received

I have been very blessed with stitching friends that I have met online over the years and they have become very good friends. In here, I am wishing everyone a Merry christmas and a happy new year. Since I have this blog in June, I have the opportunity to make new friends that visit my blog regularly and leaving me comments. There are lot more out there that come and visit here but I don't know who you are. Thank you so much for visiting my blog.

Cathy from Ohio made this cute Snowman and she also sent me some speciality thread and NPI silk for a Victoria Sampler project. I had my son to model this piece.

Maralyn in Autraila made me this very cute Santa ornament, 2 pieces of sparkling christmas fabric, and some very cute heart charms. She always has such a neat way of wrapping her gifts.

Janet sent a framed ornament from Just Cross stitch magazine, a very pretty scissor and a cookie inside the tin can for my son.

Cathy from New Mexico sent me some Carrie's threads.

Susan sent me a workbasket design piece, a spindle stand from bloom woodworks and a very cute snowman card.

Sandra at UK sent me a big package of goodies, a wood bird threader, a needlebook with matching fob and scissor, 2 packages of curve needles, plum pudding christmas in red ( I forgot to include in the pic), some pins, a pin keep, green linen fabric, metallic flat quarter fabric and a package of John James needles and all nicely wrapped.

Sharon sent me a gift certificate at Stitching and More so I can do some stash shopping.

Thank you so much for all for the precious gifts and the best of all being such good friends.

Christmas Needlerolls gifts

I have stitched and finished 4 needlerolls this year as christmas gifts. I like the Shepherd's bush designs so much that I stitched it twice and I am going to stitch one more time for myself.

My christmas ornament gift stitching

I have been stitching and working so hard on the finishing. I finally mailed all my packages out today and they are mostly in the US. The overseas ones I had mailed them out earlier. I am going to post the ornaments today but I won't list the receipents so it will still be a suprise when they get them in the mail. Tomorrow, I will post the needlerolls gifts. As far as christmas gifts that I received, I will make a post close to christmas.

I am going to post the ornaments that I stitched as gifts today:

Blue Ribbon design:

Shepherd's Bush:

Little House Needlework

I made a few modification from the original charts for these designs. The blue ribbon ornament is from the diabetic tree fundraising package. (Look closer, I put gold beads on the right and left trees) The Shepherd's bush one is from a chart. The little house needlework ornament is from Just Cross stitch magazine and I only stitched part of it and changed the wording to Merry christmas.

JBW Christmas motif sampler

JBW charts are very cute and reasonably priced. I used Carrie's hand dyed thread "Holly days" for this Christmas Motif sampler. I am very happy with the result and I stitched it one over one. A friend of mine recommended Carrie's threads to me months ago and the prices are very reasonable (regular price is $1.00 for 8 yard).
